I've been looking around for a Macro lens the last little while. It started with an idea for a book I want to put together, and it needs a lot of macro and macro style shots to complete. I started just wanting the nice little Canon 50mm Compact Macro, which is their cheapest macro lens. However, it jumped up in price the other day from all the shops I've been able to find it at.

Now it's just half the price of the very nice Canon 100mm USM Macro (which was the other thought). That said: double the price means double the savings time, and I'm no longer sure I'm going to be able to complete the book this year anyways since I'll be moving to Sweden for about 6 months (and the shooting was supposed to all be done in the local forest).

Ah well, it may just have to wait until I get back. Not the end of the world though.
